Collision

Duration: 45  min
Author: Tiera Joly Pavelich

Collision begins in total darkness.
In Loss of Consciousness, where The Concussion Survivor turns into his imagination, dreaming of an anonymous character. A silhouette that takes us to the subconscious of the survivor where he comes to understand the transformation before and after the accident.

This silhouette enters and leaves the darkness, playing with the optical illusion, the rhythm, its curiosity in front of everything and the Dance, inviting the public to enter this journey towards the subconscious of those who have survived a brain trauma.

Choreographer's Notes:

The original idea for Collision started from my experience with multiple concussions, transforming it into a vehicle for the imagination of the audience.

The viewer is free to interpret Collision independently, drawing on their own life experiences and moving them towards moments of calm and peace.

This work premiered in 2019 at the Montreal Fringe Festival, has been presented at CAMP_In 2019 and was scheduled at the Mexico City International Dance Festival.
